Our Story
Did you think this was going to be a typical brand story? Yeah… not really.
DIVE INTO IT
Who are we?
Hi, we are Diana and Joni. I, Diana, am from Slovakia and Joni is from Portugal. We met on one random night in a bar in Lisbon and it changed our lives drastically. Just to be clear - in the best way possible. That’s why we made this brand. To share what we learnt the hard way with you all.
Welcome to the Positivity Experiment.
THE "BEGINNING" PHASE
We were both lost. Working our regular 9-5s and spending the nights out. Drinking a lot and partying. Calling it a phase, only the phase had already lasted way too long for both of us.
On the first night we met, we drank a bit too much and shared with each other that we would really like to stop living like this. Especially the meaningless evenings spent getting wasted, with 0 direction. Oh, and did I mention this conversation happened with Google Translator? We did not speak the same language haha.
And so we took it day by day. The goals were: learn one language together + stop drinking + find the meaning of life.
THE "DAY BY DAY" PHASE
During this journey, and god it was a LONG one, we both had our own paths to battle with, but we had one common goal. To get through it, not forget why we started and stick to the goal. We took it day by day.
Was it hard as hell? Yep. Did we stick to the goal? Yep. My app called "I am sober" is saying we have been sober exactly 730 days. Isn’t that insane? 730 days, waking up every day, choosing the same all over again. 730 days of choosing kind actions towards ourselves. ABOUT TIME!
THE "YOU IMPACT PEOPLE MORE THAN YOU THINK" PHASE
During all of this, we realised one thing. This was never one big change. It was one decision at a time, day by day. It was the small things. The small reminders that we were coming back to, the whys. And after telling you the story, maybe you’re already feeling like connecting the dots?
Reminders. Small things. Small kind actions. This whole concept wasn’t created by us. It was built into our lives day by day. And as you can see, it stuck with us, so we created this whole concept. We turned the reminders into something wearable!!
THE "LET'S BUILD A COMPANY" PHASE
If there is one thing, besides ourselves, that helped during this tremendous change in our lives, it was the people. The humanity in them, you know? Because we do have an impact on each other. Think about it. A sentence, something someone said at the right time, or the wrong time. We all remember those. Well, what if we could spread something kind? A minimalistic reminder wearable for everyone. BOOM. Mental health awareness done different.
Our story ends here. But yours is beginning. So what do you think, can something as simple as what we wear remind people of what truly matters? Let’s see.
Now you’re part of it too.
